At Weill Cornell Medicine, our team includes gynecologic surgeons who are highly trained in the most advanced and effective gynecologic surgery procedures, including minimally invasive techniques.
We understand that gynecologic surgery is very personal. It can be an overwhelming or isolating process. Our care team is here for you during every step. We work closely with you to ensure that you always feel supported, empowered with information and comfortable.
Many non-cancerous (benign) gynecologic conditions can be treated with surgery, such as heavy periods, endometriosis, fibroids and more. Traditional (open) surgery uses a large incision to access the uterus to treat the conditions.
Minimally invasive techniques use smaller incisions. Typically, thin tubes are inserted into these small incisions to access the uterus and treat the conditions. Patients benefit from smaller incisions because it is less painful and faster to recover from. Patients can return to their normal daily activities faster than traditional (open) surgery.
Convenient, individualized care: Through evidence-based medicine, we diagnose benign gynecologic conditions and develop a targeted treatment plan that takes into account each patient’s goals, symptoms and reproductive plans.
Our patients are empowered to make the best decision for their health and life goals, armed with the most current information on all treatment options, both surgical and nonsurgical.
Multidisciplinary care from leading experts: When you choose Weill Cornell Medicine, you have access to a network of doctors and specialists.
