Surgical Treatment for Gastrointestinal (GI) Cancers

The Weill Cornell Medicine Division of Surgical Oncology is an international leader in surgical treatments for GI Cancers.

Gastrointestinal (GI) cancer surgery offers the chance for a cure to many people. But these procedures are often complex, requiring the skilled hands of experienced gastrointestinal cancer surgeons.

With advanced endoscopic and robotic surgery expertise the faculty are able to provide patients approaches that improve recovery and return to the life the patients want to live.

Cytogenetics

The Cytogenetics laboratory at Weill Cornell Medical College/New York Presbyterian Hospital performs approximately 7500 tests annually, with the use of conventional cytogenetic and molecular cytogenetic techniques. The laboratory offers chromosome analysis of blood (peripheral blood and umbilical cord), amniotic fluid, chorionic villi, products of conception and skin fibroblasts. The laboratory also offers chromosomal analysis of bone marrow samples from hematological malignancies.

Pediatric Pulmonology

The Pediatric Pulmonology practice at NewYork-Prebyterian Komansky Children's Hospital at Weill Cornell Medical Center provides diagnosis and comprehensive care for the full range of lung and respiratory disorders including asthma, chronic lung disease, cystic fibrosis, chronic cough, respiratory insufficiency, and sleep disorders. We use leading-edge technologies including flexible fiberoptic bronchoscopy and pulmonary function testing (PFT).

Weill Cornell Travel Medicine (WCTM)

The Weill Cornell Travel Medicine (WCTM ) practice, now in operation for more than 30 years on the Upper East side of Manhattan, was the first health unit devoted exclusively to travelers in New York City. WCTM, a comprehensive clinical service provided by the prestigious Weill Cornell Medical College, is also affiliated with the New York Presbyterian Hospital, and offers pre- and post-travel consultations and care in Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
