Weill Cornell Medicine - Infectious Diseases (ID) consists of a group of dedicated board-certified infectious diseases physicians. Laboratory Medicine

The Clinical Laboratories of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the New York Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medical Center offer state of the art diagnostic testing services. The laboratories perform almost 5 million tests annually, using a combination of robotics and manual laboratories. The faculty of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine are available for expert consultations in the full range of diagnostic testing. The clinical laboratories are committed to excellence in clinical service and customer satisfaction.

MRI Center

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/ Weill Cornell Medical Center offers MRI services in an ultramodern facility providing comprehensive diagnostic services with two state-of-the-art MRI scanners. New MRI and MRA techniques developed at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell help doctors evaluate and diagnose:

- Aneurysms, vascular malformations and minute lesions of the brain

- Problems of the arteries - carotid and renal atery disease, arthosclerotic disease

- Problems of the spine, abdomen and pelvis

Immunopathology

The Immunopathology Laboratory is part of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the New York Presbyterian Hospital - Cornell Medical Center. The Immunopathology Laboratory personnel perform a variety of immunophenotyic analytic tests including immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry and in situ hybridization. The majority of the flow cytometry tests are for the analysis of leukemias and lymphomas while immunohistochemical studies for all types of reactive and neoplastic proliferations are performed. The laboratory performs approximately 75,000 immunophenotypic tests per year.

Neuropathology

The neuropathology service provides diagnosis and consultations on the pathology of the brain, spinal cord, meninges, peripheral nerve and muscle. Both adult neuropathology and pediatric neuropathology are covered. All aspects of pathology are included: tumors, vascular diseases, infectious, inflammatory, demyelinating, toxic, metabolic, traumatic, and neurodegenerative diseases. Services include intraoperative consultations, surgical neuropathology, forensic neuropathology, and autopsy neuropathology.
