Surgical Treatment for Type 2 Diabetes

Type 2 diabetes is a condition that occurs when the body does not produce enough insulin or cannot effectively use the insulin it produces. This condition is sometimes referred to as “insulin resistance.”

Left untreated, this resistance leads to raised blood glucose, or sugar levels, which can cause high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or impact organs and tissues, including the heart, kidneys and eyes.
