Join us for 2023 Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month Events

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. To Honor, Support and Educate Patients, Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Will Host Two Virtual Presentations on the Disease, Aimed at Younger and Older Adults Respectively.

Event #1: Myths and Misconceptions: Colorectal Cancer in Younger Adults

Colorectal cancer has become more and more common among adults younger than 50. That’s why Weill Cornell Medicine and its hospital partner, NewYork-Presbyterian, are hosting a virtual discussion aimed at younger patients on Wednesday, March 8, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Please join our panel of colorectal cancer experts including Dr. Mehraneh Jafari, Dr. Ilan Weisberg, Dr. Heather Yeo and Dr. Lea Lowenfeld to learn about keeping a healthy colon and rectum, effective screening methods for colorectal cancer and the rise of colorectal cancer in younger adults.

The panel will address the following questions:

  • At what age should I begin screening for colorectal cancer?
  • How do I reduce my chances of developing colorectal cancer?
  • Is colorectal cancer a “family disease” (can it be passed down)?
  • Who is most at risk of developing colorectal cancer?

Remember, early detection saves lives!
