Who will I be speaking with during the video visit?
The video visit will be with one of our specially-trained breast cancer nurses.
How is the Breast Cancer Video Concierge different from making an appointment by phone or online?
The Breast Cancer Video Concierge is a video visit between a patient (someone who has been newly diagnosed with breast cancer) and a nurse specializing in breast cancer. Video visits occur on a mobile device through the Weill Cornell Medicine app.
The free, 20-minute video visit gives patients a chance to ask questions about possible treatment options at Weill Cornell Medicine, particularly as it relates to their specific medical situation.
Before the visit ends, the breast cancer nurse can schedule initial in-person visits with the cancer specialists that fits the patient’s needs and goals, typically medical oncologists, breast surgeons and/or radiation oncologists.
Please note: The video concierge helps those who have been newly diagnosed with breast cancer. If you are a friend or family member, or if you would like more information about breast cancer screening and care at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian, please call (646) 962-2330.
How do I send you my medical records and pathology reports?
Once you have scheduled an appointment, our team will send you a message through Weill Cornell Connect, our secure patient portal. Please send your medical records and pathology reports as a response to that message before your visit.
You may also send your medical records and pathology reports by emailing breastcenternurse@nyp.org or sending a fax to (646) 697-7783.
How do I reschedule or cancel an appointment?
You can reschedule or cancel an appointment by logging into your Weill Cornell Connect account online or through the Weill Cornell Medicine mobile app. You may also contact us (646) 962-2330.
How should I prepare for my video visit?
To prepare for your video visit, make sure to complete the following before your appointment:
- Sign up for Weill Cornell Connect, our patient portal, if you do not have an account.
- Download the Weill Cornell Medicine app to your mobile device. The app is available for both Apple and Android devices.
- Send us your medical records and pathology report, if you were referred by a physician outside of Weill Cornell Medicine by emailing breastcenternurse@nyp.org or sending a fax to (646) 697-7783. These documents will help the nurse to answer your questions and coordinate your care based on your specific condition.
- Find a quiet space with a Wi-Fi connection for your video visit. This will ensure your privacy and help the appointment run smoothly.
