Pediatric Trauma Surgery

The pediatric trauma program at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian is nationally accredited and verified by the American College of Surgeons. Our expert multidisciplinary team coordinates the complex care of injured children who are transferred to our program from the entire region. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards for the care of pediatric trauma.

We collaborate with our colleagues in pediatric emergency medicine, critical care, anesthesia and radiology to provide state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic treatments for patients with injuries. Our team is available 24 hours per day, seven days a week, and we coordinate trauma care throughout the entire region. We have a robust patient safety and performance improvement program which allows us to maintain the highest standards of care.

In collaboration with our pediatric emergency room physicians, anesthesiologists, critical care physicians, neurosurgeons, orthopedics, plastic surgeons, ENT surgeons, opthalmologists and urologic surgeons, we treat patients with injuries due to falls, sports injuries, car accidents and trauma from gun and knife violence.
