The Immunopathology Laboratory is part of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the New York Presbyterian Hospital - Cornell Medical Center. The Immunopathology Laboratory personnel perform a variety of immunophenotyic analytic tests including immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry and in situ hybridization. The majority of the flow cytometry tests are for the analysis of leukemias and lymphomas while immunohistochemical studies for all types of reactive and neoplastic proliferations are performed. The laboratory performs approximately 75,000 immunophenotypic tests per year. The laboratory is also responsible for accepting and the initial processing of samples for DNA/RNA analysis of leukemias and lymphomas.
We offer complete hematological consultation services including:
Morphologic evaluation of lymphoid tissue and bone marrow
Immunohistochemical evaluation of lymphoid tissue and bone marrow
Flow cytometric evaluation of bone marrow aspirates, peripheral blood, fluids and lymphoid tissues
Evaluation of CD4/CD8 lymphocytes
Immunoglobulin and T cell receptor gene rearrangement analysis by Southern Blotting and PCR
Evaluation of proto-oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes
Complete work-up of individual cases in the same facility
Personal telephone consultation and complete report by FAX
Utilization of the Federal Express service and messenger service at no cost to the physician or the patient
