The Division of General Academic Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine is devoted to the care of children from birth through adolescence. Our mission includes research, education, clinical care, advocacy, and community outreach. Affiliated with the NewYork-Presbyterian Komansky Children’s Hospital/Ambulatory Care Network (ACN), we provide primary care for children and can seamlessly coordinate with pediatric subspecialists when increased services are required.
Our practice serves as the primary center for educating residents and medical students to provide exceptional care for children. The practice provides residents with the opportunity to see patients longitudinally which is essential to learning about the course of mental and behavioral health problems. We provide pediatric care education for nurse practitioners and pre-clinical medical students.
We are part of a Multi-site National Institute of Health (NIH) funded study to examine WeCare: a screening tool for social determinants of health that provides up-to-date resources for families. We maintain a close relationship with the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House Early Childhood Center. Our providers are members of the Center’s medical advisory board and help coordinate educational health talks and services such as flu shot clinics, blood pressure checkups, and other pediatric health needs. We also manage a Healthy City Kids program that is delivered to parents and children in a series of eight sessions twice yearly to promote healthy lifestyles for the preschool children attending there.
