Mind-Body Instruction

The Integrative Health and Wellbeing Program at Weill Cornell Medicine, in partnership with NewYork-Presbyterian, includes individual instruction on meditation, mindfulness, yoga, Reiki, and other techniques to optimize the mind-body connection, attention, and resilience.

Our Mind-Body Instruction services include:

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy promotes a sense of wellbeing and helps to balance mind, body, and spirit. Massages can promote relaxation and help relieve pain, anxiety and the effects of a variety of health conditions, including osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, muscle soreness due to exercise or participation in a sports activity, and low back and neck pain. Many people also use massage therapy to help relieve the side effects of some cancer treatments.

Integrative Medicine Consultation

To determine the best services for you, we begin with a comprehensive, 45- to 60-minute evaluation with one of our physicians.

Each visit includes a comprehensive medical history, an assessment of your health goals and a close look at the underlying factors that influence your health. If needed, we’ll order any additional lab work or tests.

During your next visit, we’ll review those test results with you and work with you to create an individualized treatment plan based on lifestyle modifications.

Nutritional Counseling

We may suggest a one-on-one nutritional consultation with a registered dietitian based on your initial evaluation. This consultation includes personalized recommendations and the creation of a food plan as well as guidance to help you follow it.

Our registered dietitians have specialized training in areas such as functional nutrition.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture treatment consists of the gentle insertion and stimulation of thin, disposable, sterile needles at strategic points on the surface of the body.

Each point provides a specific function to regulate a free flow of blood and vital energy, or "chi." Acupuncture balances this energy, which directs the body's natural healing ability to where it is needed.

Our acupuncture services are provided by a licensed acupuncturist (LAc).
