Dr. Rahul Sharma Honored with Advancing Emergency Care Award

Dr. Rahul Sharma, the Barbara and Stephen Friedman Professor and Chair of Emergency Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine, has been recognized with the Advancing Emergency Care Award by the New York American College for Emergency Physicians (NY ACEP).

This award, established in 2008, honors individuals who have significantly advanced emergency care in New York State. Dr. Sharma, a national leader in emergency medicine and telemedicine, is known for developing innovative care delivery models that enhance patient experience and safety. He has led the launch of several virtual care platforms, including Virtual Urgent Care and ED Telehealth Express Care, and serves as the Executive Director of the Center for Virtual Care.

“Receiving this award is a meaningful recognition of our department, faculty, and staff,” said Dr. Sharma. “Many initiatives I’ve been involved with are the result of incredible collaborations and support from colleagues at Weill Cornell Medicine, NewYork-Presbyterian, and beyond.”
