A Milestone Transplant

Despite the excitement of being a milestone transplant, the 4,000th for our transplant center which occurred in 2012, Nathaniel Zavin had anything but a smooth journey to his transplant. Needing his third kidney transplant by his first year of college, Nathaniel had no shortage of willing living donors but was difficult to match due to his prior transplants. Thankfully, his cousin Megan's willingness to participate in kidney paired donation enabled Nathaniel to receive a new kidney. Read more about their story here.
