Biographical Info

Valentina Mocchetti, M.S., CCC-SLP is a medical speech-language pathologist specializing in swallowing disorders at the Sean Parker Institute for the Voiceat Weill Cornell Medicine. Valentina obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Georgetown University and a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Teacher’s College, Columbia University. She completed her clinical fellowship in swallowing disorders at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Voice and Swallowing Clinics. Valentina has worked in both in patient acute care and outpatient settings with adults with communication andswallowing impairments. She has specialized in the evaluation and treatment of dysphagia across a variety of diagnoses, including head and neck cancer, neurological disorders, cricopharyngeal dysfunction and respiratory failure including tracheostomy/ventilator dependence. Valentina has advanced training and established clinical competencies in instrumental swallowing assessments including video fluoroscopic swallowing study/modified barium swallow study(VFSS /MBS), flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) and high-resolution pharyngeal manometry (HRPM). Valentina holds a New York State license in speech-language pathology and a Certificate of Clinical Competencyfrom the American Speech Language Hearing Association. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), the New York State Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NYSSLHA) and Dysphagia Research Society(DRS).
