Susan Samuels, MD is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Clinical Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine, and an Assistant Attending Psychiatrist at New York Presbyterian Hospital. She is the Director of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry, and works closely with medical students throughout their pre-clinical and clinical years. She is also the Director of the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Consultation and Liaison Service, where she supervises child psychiatry residents who administer psychiatric consultations on medically-ill patients in the general pediatrics hospital. She maintains a faculty practice specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry, providing diagnostic evaluations, psychopharmacology, as well as various modalities of psychotherapy for young children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. Her expertise in pediatric psychosomatic medicine is a result of extensive experience working with acutely and chronically medically-ill children and their families, as they cope with the challenges imposed upon them both while in the hospital as well as on an outpatient basis.
