About Robert Emmett Kelly, M.D.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in adult andgeriatric psychiatry, Dr. Kelly completed his undergraduate degree in Engineering and Applied Science at the California Institute of Technology. He went on to work in computer science at the IBM Nordic Lab in Stockholm, Sweden, leading a natural language project, before earning his medical degree at Lund University in Sweden. He completed his psychiatry residency and geriatric psychiatry fellowship training at the Beth Israel Medical Center program, and joined Weill Cornell Medical College as a research fellow in 2007. In 2010, Dr. Kelly began his current work as Assistant Attending in Psychiatry at New York Presbyterian Hospital Westchester Behavioral Health Center, admitting patients and working on adult inpatient units, while continuing his psychiatric research as Principle Investigator for the Cornell Site of the iSPOT-D study, and in developing improved brain imaging methods. He has served on committees of the American Psychiatric Association as Member/Co-chair of the Residents Committee of the NY County District Branch of the APA, Member/Chair/Consultant of the Elections Committee, and Member of the Committee on Bylaws of the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Kelly is fluent in English, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, and Spanish. ** Please Note, Dr. Kelly DOES NOT have an active outpatient practice.
