About Bradley B. Pua, M.D.
As Vice Chair for Image Guided Therapies at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian, my work sits at the intersection of precision medicine, procedural innovation, and patient-centered care. Image guided therapies continue to redefine modern medicine, enabling minimally invasive treatments that improve outcomes, reduce recovery times, and expand therapeutic options across multiple specialties.
My mission is to transform how imaging informs diagnosis, treatment planning, and intervention. Through the integration of advanced imaging technologies, three dimensional visualization, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and federated data infrastructure, I aim to enhance clinical decision making, improve procedural precision, and expand access to high quality care. My work spans interventional oncology, thoracic disease, vascular anomalies, screening programs, and emerging image guided therapies, with a particular focus on translating innovation into scalable clinical workflows.
Equally important is fostering the next generation of physician leaders, researchers, and innovators. Whether developing novel technologies, optimizing care pathways, or building multidisciplinary programs, my goal is to leverage imaging not only as a diagnostic tool but as a platform for improving outcomes, advancing health equity, and shaping the future of medicine.

Dr. Bradley Pua is a nationally recognized leader in image guided therapies, interventional oncology, and clinical innovation. He currently serves as Vice Chair for Image Guided Therapies at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian, where he leads strategic initiatives focused on advancing minimally invasive treatments, integrating emerging technologies, and expanding multidisciplinary models of care.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Pua served as Chief of the Division of Interventional Radiology from 2015 through 2026. During his tenure, he oversaw substantial growth in clinical services, research, education, and multisite operations, helping establish one of the nation's leading image guided therapy programs.
Dr. Pua earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from New York University and his Doctor of Medicine from the NYU School of Medicine. After completing three years of surgical residency training at NYU Medical Center, he pursued fellowship training in Interventional Radiology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He subsequently completed his Diagnostic Radiology residency at Weill Cornell Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident.
His clinical practice encompasses a broad range of minimally invasive image guided therapies, including embolization, tumor ablation, vascular interventions, biopsy procedures, and advanced oncologic treatments. He has particular expertise in thoracic oncology, pediatric interventions, and complex vascular disorders.
Dr. Pua co-founded a multidisciplinary vascular anomalies program that provides coordinated longitudinal care for patients with hemangiomas, venous malformations, lymphatic malformations, and arteriovenous anomalies. He has also played a leading role in developing innovative care pathways that connect diagnostic imaging, specialty consultation, and image guided treatment.
As Director of the Lung Cancer Screening Program, Dr. Pua has pioneered strategies to improve early cancer detection and reduce barriers to care. His work includes the development of multidisciplinary pulmonary nodule programs, mobile CT screening initiatives, and streamlined diagnostic pathways that accelerate access to potentially curative treatments. He serves as principal investigator and collaborator on multiple clinical trials evaluating novel image guided therapies for lung tumors, including thermal ablation and pulsed electric field ablation technologies.
A recognized innovator in medical imaging, Dr. Pua has been an early adopter of augmented reality, three dimensional visualization, and image fusion technologies. His research focuses on integrating these technologies into procedural planning, navigation, patient education, and real time image guided interventions. Through collaborations with academic institutions, industry partners, and clinical investigators, he continues to advance new approaches that improve precision, safety, and treatment outcomes.
Dr. Pua is widely invited to lecture on image guided therapies, interventional oncology, augmented reality applications in medicine, and healthcare innovation. His leadership and clinical work have been featured in national media and have contributed to expanding access to minimally invasive treatments and earlier detection of cancer across diverse patient populations.
