About Melanie Sisti, M.D.
Dr. Melanie Sisti is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Assistant Attending Psychiatrist at the Center for Special Studies at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. She treats a wide range ofconditions and currently works exclusively with people living with HIV/AIDS. *** Please note, Dr. Sisti DOES NOT currently have an outpatient practice
Dr. Melanie Sisti attended University of Rochester, where she graduated magna cum laude with degrees in biology and psychology. Following herunder graduate studies, she received her medical degree at the New York University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Adult Psychiatryat the New York University School of Medicine, and stayed at NYU following residency to complete a one year fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine(Consultation Liaison Psychiatry). Dr. Sisti is a diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as well as of the American Board of Psychosomatic Medicine.
Dr. Sisti joined the faculty at the Weill Cornell School of Medicine 2011, and since then she has held a full time clinical position at the Center for Special Studies of New York Presbyterian Hospital. Her clinical work involves providing both outpatient and inpatient psychiatric care as part of amulti disciplinary team for people living with HIV/AIDS. She has also gained additional expertise working in emergency psychiatry. Dr. Sisti is licensed toprescribe Suboxone (buprenorphine) for patients with opiate dependence. In addition to her clinic work, she is active in the psychiatry residency as asupervisor, and is involved in a variety of preclinical and clinical medicalstudent teaching roles.
