Personal Statement

As a nephrologist, I strive to provide excellent care to patients with kidney disease as well as kidney transplant recipients. I also conduct research on characterizing the relationship of the microbiome and complications in patients with kidney disease and kidney transplant recipients. My work is currently funded by an NIH K23 career development award, an NIH R21 exploratory/development award, and a National Kidney Foundation Young Investigator Research Grant. I am also heavily involved in mentoring and training future nephrologists, allowing me to keep up-to-date on the latest treatments and to apply the latest medical advances to my patients.
