About Charles Levin, D.D.S.
Charlie Levin is an Assistant Attending Dentist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and a Clinical instructor in Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College. He limits his practice to Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Levin practices all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery, he has special interest in orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery) and smile rehabilitation using a combination of bone grafting and dental implant solutions. Dr. Levin also enjoys wisdom tooth removal, providing outpatient anesthesia, treating complex facial trauma, and treating temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. Dr. Levin is passionate about having a strong hospital based presence. He prides himself on providing excellent and compassionate treatment to patients by caring for them as he would a member of his own family.
Charlie Levin grew up in Erie, PA before attending the Pennsylvania State University where he majored in Biology and graduated with highest distinction (Summa cum laude). After college he chose to move to New York City to continue his education at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. There he developed his interest in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Levin was drawn to the specialty due to its vast scope and because of his passion for treating anvariety of complex conditions. During dental school, Dr. Levin received the Jack Klatell Scholarship Award based on his academic merit and the AAOMS Dental Implant Award due to his clinical achievements. Upon graduation, Dr. Levin was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) Honors Society, a distinction reserved for the top 10% of students in his class.
Dr. Levin then continued his education at Montefiore Medical Center where he completed training in the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and served as Chief Resident in his final year. While in training he was an active participant in multiple research and outreach projects including studying the prevalence of medication related osteonecrosis of the jaws (MRONJ), the use of melatonin to curb post surgery narcotic usage, and bone regeneration using customized 3D printed scaffolds. He has presented his research at national meetings. He also participated in an international mission trip, Smile Bangladesh, to provide cleft lip and palate reconstructive surgery to children in need.
In his free time, Dr. Levin spends time with his wife, family, and friends. He enjoys traveling, snowboarding, water sports, playing golf, and trying new restaurants.
