Through the Center for the Performing Artist at Weill Cornell Medicine, you can receive expert and compassionate care from world-class physiatrists (physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists) and orthopedic surgeons, affiliated with Hospital for Special Surgery — the top nationally ranked orthopedic program — right here in New York.

The Center for the Performing Artist connects artists to our expert physiatrists, who strive to help patients return to their daily routines, favorite activities and artistic practice through minimally invasive treatment and pain management options.

Our rehabilitation medicine program – which U.S. News and World Reports ranked as one of the top 15 in the country, in partnership with NewYork-Presbyterian, New York’s #1 hospital for 16 years running – offers physical, occupational, and speech therapy as well as medications, fluoroscopically guided spine injections and regenerative medicine, an emerging discipline that taps into the body’s natural ability to heal damaged tissue.

If you suffer from back or spine issues, we can also connect you to Och Spine at NewYork-Presbyterian at the Weill Cornell Medicine Center for Comprehensive Spine Care, a multi-specialty practice that offers a wide range of state-of-the-art, minimally invasive treatment options that can be performed right in the center with minimal downtime.

For surgical treatment, the Center for the Performing Artist can also refer you to our medical partner, the Hospital for Special Surgery, which is recognized nationally for its expertise in orthopedics and rheumatology. HSS is a member of the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System and an affiliate of Weill Cornell Medicine. All HSS medical staff are on the faculty of Weill Cornell Medical College.

No matter which specialist you choose to see, you can be sure to receive compassionate and highly personalized care as soon as you contact the Center for the Performing Artist. We can help you find the right doctor to address your needs, arrange a referral and even set up an appointment, test or procedure – all free of charge.
