Personal Statement
Mashal Khan, M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine, and an Assistant Attending Psychiatrist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. As part of the NYP Telepsychiatry Service, he provides clinical care at several hospitals within the NewYork-Presbyterian network to patients with comorbid psychiatric and general medical conditions in the inpatient and emergency room settings. In addition, Dr. Khan is part of the Addiction Psychiatry team at Weill Cornell Medicine. His faculty practice is open for consultations, psychotherapy and pharmacological treatment, including medication assisted therapies for substance use disorders.

Biography
Dr. Khan is a graduate of the Xi'an Jiaotong University, School of Medicine and trained at Maimonides Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident. Following his residency training, he completed a Fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Mount Sinai St.Luke’s-West. He is board certified in General Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
In addition to clinical work, Dr. Khan trains clinicians on the use of buprenorphine in treating opioid use disorder. He supervises medical students and residents as part of the Telepsychiatry service and instructs trainees in Addiction Psychiatry.
Dr. Khan’s most recent publication is a chapter titled, “Steroids, Dissociatives, Club Drugs, Inhalants, and Hallucinogens” in Absolute Addiction Psychiatry Review.
He practices in English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi.
