Personal Statement

I feel privileged to have been a part of the lives of the many patients who have sought my counsel and care. I am especially delighted that Weill Cornell Medicine and New York-Presbyterian Hospital have made the commitment to bring their considerable resources and talents to Lower Manhattan. It is truly exciting to be part of a formidable team of health care professionals.

Dr Lester W Blair has been in the practice of Pulmonary Medicine since 1979.  He is currently Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine.  He completed residency training in internal medicine at the New York Presbyterian-Columbia University Medical Center and fellowship training in pulmonary diseases at NYU Langone Medical Center.  His primary interest is in caring for patients with known or suspected lung diseases including chronic bronchitis, asthma and sarcoidosis.  Dr. Blair is a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine and a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Chest Physicians.  He has served as President of the American Lung Association of New York and President of the New York State Thoracic Society.  He has been consistently listed as a “Superdoctor” in the Sunday New York Times magazine and rated as a Best Doctor by Castle-Connolly and the US News and World Report.
