Personal Statement
Jessica Simberlund, MD is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Assistant Attending Psychiatrist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Simberlund is a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist specializing in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of psychiatric disorders in inpatient settings.

Biography
Dr. Simberlund completed her medical training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. She trained in adult psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine and completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital’s combined program of Columbia and Cornell Universities. Dr. Simberlund was elected Chief Resident during her last year of fellowship training. Dr. Simberlund has also been recognized for her dedication to patient-centered care. At the conclusion of her fellowship, she received the Edward J. Sachar award for clinical excellence in child psychiatry.
Dr. Simberlund’s academic interests include medical student and resident education, wellness and resiliency training, collaborative care and neurodevelopmental disorders. She is active in teaching medical students and supervising psychiatry residents. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and she serves as a board member for the New York Council on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
