Personal Statement

I pursued medical school later in life after years of experiencing medicine and medical adversity from the patient's side. I did this because I realized how vulnerable my family and I were in the face of illness and sought to bridge the gap between what is known and what we understood. That impetus - the vulnerability I felt as a patient, the necessity to understand the benefactions of modern medicine, and the goal to bridge the gap for others - is at the heart of my practice today as a physician and surgeon. It's a privilege to return to the prestigious institution where I earned my medical degree to treat the local community and help train my future colleagues at Weill Cornell Medicine.

Dr. Jack Levy is a double board-certified dermatologist and Mohs micrographic surgeon who joins the Israel Englander Department of Dermatology at Weill Cornell Medicine.

After a career in the arts, Dr. Levy completed his premedical studies at Columbia University and earned his medical doctorate at Weill Cornell Medical College. He completed his post-graduate training in internal medicine and dermatology at Mount Sinai and Emory University Hospitals, respectively, serving as chief resident in his final year. He maintained a focus on mastering techniques that are safe in all skin types and colors.

He is specially trained in surgical as well as noninvasive techniques for eye rejuvenation procedures and brow-lifts, aesthetic rejuvenation, resurfacing, minimally invasive body contouring, and scar revision.

Dr. Levy is an expert in the use of injectable fillers, neuromodulators, and lasers in aesthetic dermatology and commonly uses platelet rich plasma (PRP) along with specially compounded topical medications for both male and female patterned hair loss.

He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and is double board certified by the American Board of Dermatology in Dermatology and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery.

He has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and presents his research at national conferences. He enjoys teaching residents advanced surgical and cosmetic techniques.

Dr. Levy combines his emphasis on aesthetics and communication with his world-class training to provide services in surgical, cosmetic, and medical dermatology at Weill Cornell Medicine.
