Practice Info

The Division of Gynecologic Pathology is a separate subspecialty service exclusively dedicated to the evaluation of gynecologic specimens.

We offer comprehensive gynecologic routine and consultation services including:

Routine Services

•   Laboratory requisition forms, pick-up and delivery services, and high quality tissue processing in a State and College of American Pathologist (CAP) certified histology laboratory.

•   Complete evaluation of each specimen by board certified pathologists with subspecialty expertise in gynecologic pathology.

•   Standard evaluation includes light microscopy, ancillary testing includes immunohistochemistry and in-situ hybridization as appropriate.

•   Most final diagnostic reports are available within 1-2 days and returned via FAX.

Consultation Services

•   Prompt diagnosis on H&E slides sent for expert review.

•   Ancillary testing can be performed if representative paraffin blocks are submitted.

•   Personal telephone consultation and complete report by FAX in the shortest time.

Gynecologic Cytopathology Services

•   1-2 day turnaround for gynecologic cytologic specimens by conventional smear or ThinPrep monolayer processing.

•   Correlation of Pap smear and biopsy results for improved patient management.
