About David Lopez Molina, Ph.D.
I am a licensed psychologist with extensive experience in working with children, adolescents and young adults across multiple levels of care. I have expertise in providing evidence of care treatment for anxiety and mood disorders, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT). My approach to care is grounded in multiculturalism and person-centered approaches to better understand how an individual’s unique experiences contribute to current life difficulties.
Dr. Lopez Molina earned his master’s in clinical psychology and doctorate in counseling psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University. He trained across multiple hospitals within the New York City metropolitan area, gaining expertise in working with children, adolescents and young adults under diverse treatment modalities. Dr. Lopez Molina completed his clinical internship at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center and earned his postdoctoral fellowship at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, where he specialized in DBT treatment and worked with LGBTQ populations.
Dr. Lopez Molina’s research interests center around public policy and its impact on mental health. He is passionate about increasing access to care to marginalized communities and does so by providing services in Spanish.
