Personal Statement

Prostate cancer is a disease with highly variable outcomes - many patients have slow growing cancers that will never threaten their health, while other have aggressive cancers that may rapidly progress.  A variety of new tools are available to help urologists match the right patient with the right treatment course, from cutting edge tests exposing the molecular basis of these cancers to imaging techniques that can allow precise targeting of cancers. A urologist that understands the use and limitations of these tools is critical to get the best outcomes. I am both a prostate cancer surgeon and a highly active researcher in prostate cancer genomics in the Sandra and Edward Meyer Cancer Center at Weill Cornell, allowing me to stay at the forefront of prostate cancer care in the 21st century, and delivering the best possible care to patients at Weill Cornell.

He is the consummate professional beyond his superior technical skills. He's a fantastic listener and a straight shooter. He has a quiet confidence, and an amazing talent for putting a patient at ease. He should also be given credit for assembling a fantastic team, and establishing a culture that makes every single visit an amazing patient experience" - Chuck R. via Healthgrades on Jun 01, 2017
