About Anika McGrath, MD
Anika McGrath, M.D. is a board-certified radiologist specializing in Women’s Imaging. She is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Assistant Attending Radiologist at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Campus.
Dr. McGrath graduated from Dartmouth College in 2007. She earned her M.D. at the University of Central Florida, where she received a four-year scholarship. She graduated first in her class and was inducted in the Alpha Omega Society.
Following a transitional year residency internship at MacNeal Hospital where she earned Intern of the Year, Dr. McGrath completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Washington in 2018. She served as chief resident and received numerous awards including Outstanding Radiology Resident Award, Outstanding Resident Leader, and Resident Educator of the Year for Medical Students.
She remained at the University of Washington for a dedicated year of fellowship training in Breast Imaging in 2019. Dr. McGrath joined the Department of Radiology at Weill Cornell Medical College as faculty in July 2020.
Dr. McGrath’s clinical expertise is in Women’s Imaging. She interprets a variety of studies including mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and performs breast interventional procedures including stereotactic breast biopsies, and image-guided breast biopsies (ultrasound and MRI). She achieved Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology from the American Board of Radiology in 2019.
Dr. McGrath is dedicated to a career as a physician scientist. She has over 20 publications and presentations, including two Nature publications. In addition to clinical and research activities, Dr. McGrath is an active and involved teacher of residents, fellows, and medical students and is a strong patient advocate.
