Biographical Info

Alexander Baxter, M.D., is a board-certified radiologist specializing in Emergency Imaging. He is an Assistant Attending Radiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Baxter graduated Magna Cum Laude from Haverford College, PA where he earned his B.S. in 1981. He then received his M.D. at University of Michigan Medical School in 1985.

After graduating, Dr. Baxter completed his residency in Internal Medicine in 1985. He then completed his training in the Department of Oncology as a NIH fellow in 1990, and as a resident in the Department of Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco in 1994. During this time, he was awarded the AUR Memorial Award by Association of University Radiologists. He then completed his fellowship in Neuroradiology in 1995.

Dr. Baxter is board certified in the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Radiology, with a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) to Neuroradiology. Dr. Baxter joined the faculty at Weill Cornell Medicine in August 2024 as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology.

Dr. Baxter's clinical expertise is in Emergency Imaging, interpreting a wide range of MRI, CT, X-ray and radiograph examinations of the head and neck. He is also actively involved in the education of residents and fellows.
