Personal Statement

I was drawn to the field of genetics because of the ability to understand the etiology behind complex genetic conditions and how this understanding can empower and provide options for the best plan of care for patients and their families. As a genetic counselor, my aim is to provide patient-centered, collaborative, and empathic care to families as they undergo genetic evaluations and adjust to genetic diagnoses over the course of their lives.
