Personal Statement

The Perkin Heart Failure Center specializes in advanced systolic and diastolic heart failure, left ventricular assist device implantation, evaluation for cardiac transplantation, valvular disease and evaluation and treatment of pulmonary hypertension. We are committed to providing individualized patient care with a multi-disciplinary approach. As an academic cardiologist that focuses on heart failure and pulmonary hypertension, I treat patients that have a number of complex medical conditions and my goal is to provide them with the best possible care.

Biographical Info

Dr. Udhay Krishnan grew up in Roslyn Heights, New York, earning his undergraduate education in Chemistry and Biomedical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School. He also completed his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He then returned to New York to complete his fellowship training and board certification in both Cardiovascular Diseases and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medical Center. He has now joined the full-time faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College – New York Presbyterian Hospital as a specialist in Advanced Heart Failure, Pulmonary Hypertension and Transplant Cardiology.

Dr. Krishnan has a specific interest in pulmonary hypertension, right ventricular failure, cardiogenic shock outcomes and mechanical circulatory support.
