Personal Statement

I am a Family Nurse Practitioner with an expertise in emergency medicine and family health. I am passionate about helping people of all ages from all walks of life. I am particularly interested in women's health, diabetes management and palliative care. My ultimate goal is to help to heal and educate others while enriching their own health literacy.

Biographical Info

Tara Mullen is a Family Nurse Practitioner at Weill Cornell Internal Medicine Associates since 2024. She has a background in Emergency Medicine and a passion for primary and preventive care.

She is a graduate from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She began her career as a nurse at the Hospital for Special Surgery, where she worked with postoperative orthopedic and chronic pain patients. After two years, she took on a role as a staff nurse at NYP/Weill Cornell Emergency Department. While there, she began studies at Pace University, graduating with her MS in Family Medicine in 2018, with her goal being to become a primary care family practice provider. She obtained her Nurse Practitioner Certification in 2019, along with her Certification in Emergency Nursing. and became a certified Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner, enabling her to better assist people in need.

Between 2019 and 2021, she completed the competitive Weill Cornell Emergency Medicine Advanced Provider Residency. From there, she stayed at Weill Cornell working with Interventional Radiology, focusing largely on Urology, Neurology, and Gastroenterology within the specialty. She then moved on to Pre-Surgical Testing at Memorial Sloan Kettering, oncology being a long-standing passion of hers.

Ultimately, Tara has found her place as a primary care Nurse Practitioner at the Weill Cornell Internal Medical Associates, working with a team of Advanced Practice Providers, seeing and consulting with patients with varying needs on a daily basis. She is invigorated by her years of experience and excited to be able to provide care to the diverse population of patients in need at this practice.
