I pursued medicine to support patients through every stage of life and found my passion in Ob/Gyn. Specializing in maternal-fetal imaging, pelvic ultrasound, and women’s health genetics allows me to combine technology, precision, and compassion to improve outcomes for women and their families. At Weill Cornell Medicine, I value the multidisciplinary teamwork and commitment to advancing women's health.

Biographical Info

Dr. Ryan E. Longman is an Associate Clinical Professor and Vice Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at NewYork-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medicine Center and Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at NYP Lower Manhattan Hospital. He specializes in maternal-fetal imaging, pelvic ultrasound, and women’s health genetics.

Dr. Longman provides advanced prenatal and gynecologic ultrasound care for women with high-risk pregnancies. His clinical expertise includes early fetal anatomy evaluation, prenatal diagnostic procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling, noninvasive prenatal genetic testing, and comprehensive genetic screening. He has special experience caring for women with connective tissue disorders, including Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, as well as patients with cancer and adult genetic conditions.

Dr. Longman earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, completed medical school at Thomas Jefferson University, and trained in obstetrics and gynecology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed fellowship training in maternal-fetal medicine and a residency in medical genetics at the University of Michigan. His academic career has included leadership roles at Washington University, the University of Miami, and the University of Chicago. Nationally, he was the site director for North American Fetal Therapy Network (NAFTNet).

An active educator and researcher, Dr. Longman has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, delivered national and international lectures, and published the textbook First-Trimester Ultrasound: A Comprehensive Guide.
