Biographical Info

Dr. Priya Velu received her bachelor of arts degree in biophysics from The Johns Hopkins University and her M.D. and Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego. She completed residency and fellowship training in clinical pathology and molecular pathology at the University of Pennsylvania and a post-doctoral research fellowship in Precision Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania that focused on machine learning and computer vision applications in pathology. She is certified by the American Board of Pathology in Clinical Pathology and Molecular Genetic Pathology. Dr. Velu is an Assistant Professor in the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Department and the Associate Director of the Molecular Pathology Laboratory, where she is advancing diagnostics in infectious disease and oncology through laboratory developed molecular testing and optimization of current clinical molecular testing practices.
