About Pritha Subramanyam, M.D., FACC
I am an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medical College and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. In addition to seeing patients in the office at both Lower Manhattan and York Avenue practices, I serve as an attending physician on the inpatient services (intensive care unit and cardiology floor units) at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell, read and perform transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms and nuclear stress tests. I practice general cardiology with a focus on preventive cardiology, lipidology, and complex hypertension (including resistant and refractory cases). I work closely with other physicians in the Division of Cardiology and other subspecialties, using a collaborative approach to provide individualized care for my patients.
Pritha Subramanyam, MD FACC was born and raised in Manhattan, New York. After graduating from Yale University with a major in Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology, she attended New York University School of Medicine. She then completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, where she graduated with a degree track in Medical Education. After residency, she completed her fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Subramanyam is a diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology and member of the National Lipid Association, American College of Cardiology (ACC), and American Society of Echocardiography. She has published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, the International Journal of Cardiology, the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography, as well as presented at several national cardiology conferences. She also maintains an active role in cardiovascular medical education, serving on local and national committees for medical school curriculum and cardiology fellowship programs, as part of the ACC.
