About Tanya Michaele Ellman, M.D.
Dr. Ellman received her M.D. from Weill Cornell Medical College and completed her Internal Medicine residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. She completed a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where she also received an M.S. in Epidemiology from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. After fellowship, she remained at Columbia University, where she worked on the implementation of HIV public health programs and research in sub-Saharan Africa and Central Asia. She also provided both inpatient and outpatient care HIV and other infectious diseases.
Dr. Ellman provides longitudinal HIV care, general primary care, and HIV prevention and sexual health services. She also serves on the inpatient Infectious Disease consult service. Her clinical research focuses on HIV in older adults. She is active in the clinical teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. Dr. Ellman is passionate about health equity and has served on multiple committees working towards racial justice and equity in medicine.
