About David Leslie Carr-Locke, M.D.
After more than 40 years as a gastroenterologist working in academic institutions in Leicester (England), Boston and New York and with a passionate interest in therapeutic endoscopy, I am excited and honored to be given the opportunity to join the Gastroenterology Division at Weill Cornell Medical College and New York Presbyterian Hospital and be given the responsibility to direct the Center for Advanced Digestive Care in the new David H Koch Building for Advanced Medicine. With a dedicated and expanded faculty, we plan to offer our patients the latest in ambulatory endoscopic treatment in collaboration with other specialties who will be present in the same location. This multidisciplinary model will change the way we treat gastrointestinal diseases and will be a new standard for medical practice which others will follow.
Dr. David L. Carr-Locke is the Clinical Director for the Center for Advanced Digestive Care.
Dr. Carr-Locke received his medical degree from Cambridge University. He completed his residency and fellowship training at the University of Leicester, England and undertook a clinical research fellowship in gastroenterology at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. Dr. Carr-Locke served as Director of the Endoscopy Institute at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston and faculty at Boston Children’s Hospital and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and most recently was the Chief for the Division of Digestive Diseases and the Associate Chair of Medicine at Mount Sinai-Beth Israel Medical Center.
A long-standing leader and innovator in the gastroenterology field, Dr. Carr-Locke’s research focuses on biomedical endoscopic devices and therapeutic endoscopy, particularly in the areas of pancreatic and biliary disease, hemostasis and the endoscopic resection of gastrointestinal tumors.
