About Sushma Krishna, MD
I am deeply committed to neonatology because it offers the opportunity to care for the most vulnerable patients at the very start of life, with a particular focus on optimizing long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes. Witnessing the remarkable resilience of these infants inspires me to deliver compassionate, family-centered care while advancing quality improvement initiatives and promoting optimal neonatal nutrition as critical foundations for brain development and growth. This specialty grants me the profound privilege of making a lasting impact on both infants and their families during some of their most critical and formative moments.
Dr. Sushma Krishna is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Assistant Attending Neonatologist at New York-Presbyterian Phyllis and David Komansky Children's Hospital at Weill Cornell Medical Center. She completed her undergraduate training at SUNY Binghamton University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology. She earned her medical degree (MD) from SUNY Upstate Medical University. Dr. Krishna completed her residency training in pediatrics at SUNY Stony Brook Children’s and was subsequently selected to serve as Chief Resident. She then completed fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell.
She is board certified in both Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
