Carol A. Mancuso MD is a general internist and clinical epidemiologist with specific interests in patient-centered clinical research and medical education.nbsp; As a clinical researcher, Dr. Mancuso focuses on treatment expectations and outcomes in patients with musculoskeletal conditions, and self-management and quality of life in patients with asthma.nbsp; Dr. Mancuso is actively involved in training physicians to be clinical researchers through her roles as an NIH-sponsored clinical mentor and the Co-Director of the Masters Degree Program in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Services Research at the Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences.
Carol A. Mancuso MD is a Professor of Medicine at the Weill Cornell Medical College and the Graduate School of Medical Sciences, a Senior Scientist at the Hospital for Special Surgery, and an Attending Physician at the New York Presbyterian Hospital and the Hospital for Special Surgery. She is the Co-Director of the Masters Degree Program in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Services Research at the Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences, the Co-Director of a T32 training grant in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Services Research supported by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and is a member of the faculty of two T32 training grants in Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Research supported by the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases.
Dr. Mancuso graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of New York and received her medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital and her fellowship in General Medicine/Clinical Epidemiology at the Hospital for Special Surgery/New York Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. Mancuso was a Robert Wood Johnson Generalist Physician Faculty Scholar, a recipient of a K-23 Mentored Patient-Oriented Research Career Development Award from the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute, and a recipient of a K-24 Midcareer Investigator Award in Patient-Oriented Research from the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute. Dr. Mancuso has been principal investigator on R01 and center grants funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
Dr. Mancuso was the Director of the New York Presbyterian Hospital General Medicine Consultation Service. She is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians and is a member of national general medicine and specialty societies.
