About Maya Hrkalovich, NP
I became a pediatric nurse practitioner to combine my passions of clinical medicine and pediatric care. I firmly believe in a family- centered approach and find it profoundly rewarding to support children through different diagnoses, chronic illnesses, and continued medical care.
Maya Hrkalovich, DNP, CPNP is a Board-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specializing in pediatric endocrinology at Weill Cornell Medicine. Her clinical practice focuses on polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS), childhood obesity, and a broad range of general pediatric endocrine disorders.
Maya earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Chapman University before completing both her Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degrees at Boston College. Following her doctoral studies, she completed a rigorous six-month Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship in Pediatric Subspecialty Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. Her fellowship training encompassed intensive inpatient rotations across specialized pediatric services, including endocrinology, gastroenterology, hepatology, allergy/immunology, adolescent medicine, complex care, general and end-stage renal disease, solid organ transplant medicine, and the medical admit service.
Upon completing her fellowship, Maya joined the clinical staff at Boston Children’s Hospital, providing advanced inpatient care across these core subspecialty services while serving as the primary Endocrine Liaison and an integral provider within the Diabetes Day Treatment Program. Today at Weill Cornell Medicine, she leverages her broad subspecialty background and dedicated endocrine training to provide comprehensive, evidence-based, and family-centered care in the outpatient pediatric endocrine clinic.
