Personal Statement

This will appear at the top of your page and consists of a paragraph or a few sentences for your patients to “get to know you.” You may wish to share your approach to care, why you chose your subspecialty, what is rewarding about working in pediatrics and/or your subspecialty, what drew you to working at Weill Cornell. Write this statement in the first person.

I am a psychiatrist specializing in addiction psychiatry, with a particular focus on behavioral addictions — including gambling disorder, sports betting, and problematic screen and technology use. While behavioral addictions are a core part of my practice, I treat a broad range of psychiatric conditions and substance use disorders, and I believe that most patients present with more than one challenge at a time. My approach to care is collaborative and non-judgmental: I believe that understanding the "why" behind compulsive behaviors and emotional struggles is just as important as addressing the symptoms themselves. What I find most rewarding is helping patients and their families make sense of experiences that can feel confusing or shameful, and building a roadmap toward recovery together. I chose Weill Cornell because of its commitment to academic excellence and innovative clinical care, as well as the opportunity to treat a diverse patient population while continuing to contribute to the field.
