About Shirley Cheung, NP
As a women’s health nurse practitioner, I am dedicated to providing focused advocacy and compassionate care. I recognize pregnancy as a transformative period, and I am committed to supporting patients through each stage with evidence-based practice. I deeply value maternal-child health for its complexity and the privilege of guiding families through life’s most meaningful milestones.
Shirley Cheung is a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with advanced certification in electronic fetal monitoring, providing comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care at Weill Cornell Medicine. Born and raised in New York, she earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Mount Saint Vincent and her master’s degree in nursing from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University.
Over the course of her career, Shirley has worked in several major New York City hospitals within labor and delivery units, gaining extensive hands-on experience caring for women during some of the most vulnerable and transformative moments of their lives. These experiences have strengthened her dedication to maternal-child health and to promoting safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care.
Her passion for women’s health began with her first obstetrics course in university, where she discovered a fascination with the science of pregnancy and childbirth and a profound respect for the resilience of women and families. She has since cultivated a holistic approach to care—one that emphasizes patient education, shared decision-making, and advocacy.
At Weill Cornell Medicine, Shirley is committed to supporting patients through all stages of reproductive and fetal health. She values the institution’s collaborative, academically driven environment and its mission to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care.
Outside of work, Shirley enjoys spending time with her dog Mochi, exploring new cuisines, traveling, and pursuing photography to capture everyday moments. She also enjoys relaxing with light shopping and discovering local culture wherever she goes.
