About Christina Tempesta, MD
Since the beginning of my medical training, I gravitated naturally towards intensive care, embracing the continuous learning that pediatric critical care demands. I am captivated by the challenge of rapidly evolving cases, the teamwork required to manage a variety of complex conditions, and the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and their families. I am inspired by the opportunity to walk alongside families during their most vulnerable moments - to offer not just medical interventions but presence, clarity and compassion.
Dr. Tempesta is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine in the Department of Pediatric Critical Care. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Spanish from Villanova University. She completed both her residency training in Pediatrics and her fellowship training in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. During her fellowship training, her research has focused on assessing the complex care needs of pediatric patients and their families admitted for long admissions in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). She has received the Department of Pediatrics Small Research Grant to fund her work in this area.
