About Mollie R. Freedman-Weiss, M.D.
My patients and their families often meet me on one of the scariest days of their lives. My job as a pediatric surgeon is to care for my patients completely and unconditionally. It is also to communicate with both the child and their family so they are heard, understand what is going, have agency to help direct their care, and are comforted by my role in their lives and their treatment—surgical and non-surgical alike Because illness and injuries impact not just my patient but also those around them, I keep the family at the center of my practice and my attention. It is an incredible privilege and responsibility to be entrusted with the surgical care of children. I have dedicated my career to delivering excellent and compassionate care from the emergency room to the ICU, to the OR, to postoperative visits, and throughout a child’s life. I believe that pediatric surgery is best accomplished as a team and my team includes the family, the pediatricians, the nurses, and my surgical partners, all working together to deliver world-class care to your child.
