Personal Statement

Moises Dominguez, M.D., is a board-certified neurologist and UCNS-fellow-trained headache specialist at Weill Cornell Medicine. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for a wide variety of headache disorders, including migraine, tension-type headache, cluster headache, and new daily persistent headache. He believes in empowering his patients with knowledge about their diagnosis and the latest available treatment options. He works closely with his patients to create a customized treatment plan that is tailored to their individual needs. He combines pharmacologic treatments with non-pharmacologic therapies, such as behavioral therapies, healthy lifestyle modifications, and neuromodulatory devices when appropriate. He is also experienced in procedural headache medicine, including onabotulinumtoxinA injections, pericranial nerve blocks, sphenopalatine ganglion blocks, and trigger point injections to comprehensively manage headache disorders.

Biographical Info

Moises Dominguez, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Weill Cornell Medical College, specializing in headache medicine.He earned his Bachelor of Science in biology and a minor in philosophy from the City College of New York, where he graduated summa cum laude. He then obtained his doctor of medicine degree from Yale University School of Medicine and completed his thesis on optimizing the educational experience of medical students rotating on neurology using a video-based model of learning and Just-in-time teaching. He completed his neurology training at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (Weill Cornell Campus) and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he was elected by his peers to be chief resident and won the Neurology Resident Teaching Award. After graduating from Weill Cornell, he completed his Headache Medicine fellowship at New York University, a United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties-accredited fellowship program.

Dr. Dominguez has published several articles on medical education and headache-related topics, as well as book chapters in the field of headache disorders and its procedural and neuromodulatory treatment. He previously served as an assistant editor for the journal Headache, a leader in publishing literature in headache and facial pain disorders, and is the official journal of the American Headache Society. Additionally, he is on the editorial board of the American Migraine Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on promoting research, advocacy, and awareness for people with migraine. He has a strong interest in education and innovative methods of treating migraine and other headache disorders, including pharmacological, procedural, and device-based modalities.
