Dr. Ruben Niesvizky, the director of the Multiple Myeloma Center at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Prebyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, recently spoke about the "privilege" of caring for myeloma patients "in an era of therapeutic milestones" with Healio, an online publication for health care professionals.

In a video posted on the site, Dr. Niesvizky spoke about some of the therapies being used to help patients, as well as the progress in using immune-based strategies.

"We're starting to talk about complete remission in a much deeper context," he said. "The ability to achieve complete remission to a minimal residual disease-negative state has allowed patients to live longer and have better quality of life."

Head over to Healio to hear Dr. Niesvizky's remarks on myeloma treatments.
