Personal Statement

I believe the Nurse Practitioner role can have a large impact on closing the gap between patients and physicians by leaning into patient advocacy and education so that patients feel they are part of their health care team and have a thorough understanding of their case and treatment options.  My approach to health care always begins with building rapport with my patients and their families through active listening, improving health literacy, and highlighting preventive care measures to help patients achieve long term health and wellness.
