Personal Statement

I have always enjoyed working with children - as a babysitter, swim instructor, camp counselor, tutor, teacher, so it always made sense for me to be a pediatrician. I love working in the inpatient environment, welcoming new babies into the world in the newborn nursery and helping to care for ill children and their families on the pediatric ward. It is an honor to be trusted with the care of people's children and to help families care for their newborn or to help children and their families cope with the uncertainty and fear of an illness. Over the course of my career as a pediatrician I have worked caring for pediatric patients in the newborn nursery, on a general pediatric hospital ward and pediatric patients with congenital heart disease.
