About Margaret “Win” Smith, N.P.
What I find so wonderful and enlightening about practicing medicine is the way it has taught me to listen first, stay curious, and appreciate the different perspectives that shape each person’s story. Women’s health has been a passion of mine ever since seeing my first delivery on L&D, and I have been lucky enough to now support women past the bedside and through every aspect of their life. My purpose as a provider is to not only to educate and to advocate for my patients, but also to create a safe environment during what can be some of the most vulnerable moments in healthcare. I hope for each of my patients to leave our visits feeling confident, cared for, and empowered in their medical care.
Margaret “Win” Smith is originally from Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama with a bachelors in Environmental Science and also graduated with a bachelors in Nursing from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. She began her career as a nurse in Labor and Delivery at UAB hospital, one of the country’s leading academic medical centers, where she was recognized for leadership and excellence in nursing. She then went on to receive her Master’s in Nursing at Samford University and began practicing comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology care in Women’s Reproductive Health at UAB. She was elected to the Advanced Practice Provider Executive Council and served on the Women’s Health Wellness Committee, along with several health equity task forces focused on improving access to medical care. She has consistently been recognized as one of the top ambulatory providers based on patient satisfaction scores.

Relationships and collaborations with for-profit and not-for profit organizations are of vital importance to our faculty because these exchanges of scientific information foster innovation. As experts in their fields, WCM physicians and scientists are sought after by many organizations to consult and educate. WCM and its faculty make this information available to the public, thus creating a transparent environment.
