About Lisa Koers, MD
Born and raised in Indiana, Dr. Lisa Koers attended Indiana University for college and medical school, then trained in full-spectrum Family Medicine at the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency in Massachusetts. A significant part of my training was devoted to working with low-resource populations and addressing the social determinants of health. Additionally, during residency, she pursued an area of concentration in Integrative Medicine and was certified in medical acupuncture.
In 2017, Dr. Koers returned to Indiana, where she worked in Federally Qualified Health Centers as a family physician for a few years before opening Fountain Square Holistic Family Medicine, a Direct Primary Care practice aimed at helping patients address health issues through lifestyle change. To better inform that approach, she began certification through the Institute of Functional Medicine. She found running a solo practice isolating, and she was craving collaboration with like-minded physicians to advance my practice of medicine.
In 2023, she accepted an opportunity to train as a fellow in Integrative Medicine at the Integrative Health and Wellbeing program at New York-Presbyterian, in collaboration with Weill Cornell Medicine, where she was excited to continue learning alongside other excellent Integrative Medicine physicians.
